Feed The Children, The National Basketball Players Association, The Bing Group and Great Redeemer Christian Church, is seeking assistance to support our 2008 “Miracle in Motown” initiative which is a collaborative effort to provide more than 80 pounds of food and personal care items to 5,000 families in need. Detroit was selected to be a host city for 2008 because of its current economic condition.
This charitable service to the wonderful people in the Detroit is scheduled for December 18, 2008. This Holiday event will have signi- ficant impact on needy families. The event will take place at 11500 Oakland Ave., at The Bing Group. Gifts will be distributed from 9:00am until 6:00pm.
The NBPA is directed by G. William “Billy” Hunter-Executive Director. They will provide the Detroit Pistons, the Utah Jazz and other retired superstar basketball players to support this event.
Feed the Children is a non-profit organization that is directed by Dr. Larry & Mrs. France Jones. They feed 1.4 million people each day around the globe. They will also support the initiative by providing 15 trailers filled with boxes of food and personal care items. FTC President-Dr. Jones will also be present.
The Bing Group was formed in 1980 by Dave Bing, NBA hall of famer and prominent Detroit area entrepreneur. He developed a diversified base of manufacturing companies that provide superior products to automotive, appliance, and office furniture industries through vertical integration.
Great Redeemer Christian Church is a small inter-denominational church that is directed by Elder Ronald E. White-Senior Pastor. GRCC is located at 17370 Meyers Rd. (Lewis College of Business Building).
