"Her First Love, THE PLAY" (1490 hits)

Written/Produced/Directed by Ray Pope of Rejoice Musical Soulfood

"Her First Love, The Play" is based on the familiar Bible Story, "The Woman at the Well" but presented in a more contemporary version.

Bringing this story to life will include some of the most inspiring Gospel artists on the scene today, including Habakkuk Music recording artists Isaiah D. Thomas and Jessica Greene, Natalie Wilson formerly of SOP, Thelma Guyton formerly of BadBoy Ent, Izzy the Urban Psalmist, Earl Bynum, Pastor Peggy Britt, Grammy award winning songwriter Keli Nicole Price, CJ McBath, and more!

After much community involvement, the play became a huge success thanks to the Norfolk, VA based Booker T. Washington High School's Academy of the Arts, joining arms with this event. As a result this will open the doors to even more students having hands on experience with a major theatrical production.

Also partnering with the production is Living in Abundance Media Group. This nonprofit organization brings awareness and attacks the literacy issue in young people, using theater as a force.

“Her First Love, The Play” will be recorded live for DVD at Booker T. Washington High School’s Auditorium, 1111 Park Avenue, Norfolk VA., November 14th at 7:30pm and November 15th at 2pm and 7:30pm.

The 2pm showing will be more geared towards the youth with a question and answering session to follow.

ALL ARE WELCOMED, with an extended invitation to churches, youth groups, schools, outreach organizations, and others. The goal is to reach a minimum of 500 youth.
